Tatra National Park Embrace the only mountains of alpine type which rise steeply from a high plateau and where the most precious natural Polish riches find tranquil refuge.

Wieliczka Salt Mine Head for this famed Polish salt mine and see the subterranean realm of labyrinthine passages, underground lakes and enormous caverns open up before your very eyes.

Malbork Castle Said to be the most impressive brick castle in the whole of Northern Europe, it was originally built in the 14th century and enlarged and rebuilt over the centuries to become a monumental construction. You will be transported back to the middle ages as you wander through the rooms and chambers.

Old Town of Krakow Wander through the maze of cobble-stoned streets that exist in age-old harmony with modern-day life. Marvel at the beautifully restored facades and enjoy a drink at one of the many quaint pubs.

Masurian Lake District This is one of the most enticing areas in Poland; cut off from land, it is a great place for nature and solitude – one fifth of the whole region is covered by lakes, rivers and canals.

Slowinski National Park Embracing the most pristine part of the Baltic southern coast, this is a spectacular national park covered with forests, miscellaneous fauna, and many species of plants and boasts some inspiring landscapes.

Wawel Royal Castle A visit to Krakow is not complete without a visit to Wawel Royal Castle, the seat of Polish royalty between the 11thand the early 17thcentury.

Ksiaz Castle Perched on the hill top, the Ksiaz Castle impresses with its majesty and amazing structure. Erected in the 13th century and then repeatedly destroyed and reconstructed, it is now highly treasured as the Pearl of Lower Silesia.

Bieszczady National Park This is a great place for hiking and the largest mountain national park in Poland. A well-groomed network of walking trails provides splendid opportunities for all sorts of outdoor adventures.

Dunajec River Rafting See beautiful views from the river as you drift leisurely past abundant vegetation, scenic highland views, and the Niedzica Castle towering over an enormous water reservoir.

Chopin’s Manor House in Zelazowa Wola Take a visit to where Chopin was born in this small village that lies at the heart of Polishness. Brimming with priceless memorabilia and surrounded by hectares of beautifully landscaped parkland, this is a truly romantic spot.

Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum A visit to Auschwitz is a test of humanity that noteverybody is prepared to take – this was the largest of Nazi Germany’s WWII concentration camps.

Enjoy some Oscypek This smoked salted sheep’s cheese, made exclusively in the Tatra Mountains of southern Poland, is a great picnic or back packer snack and is rolled into a shape that looks something like a ‘neck massager’.

Chapel of Skulls You can’t miss this macabre chapel in the Church of St. Bartholomew’s grounds at Czermna, 1km north of Kudowa’s town centre. The length of its walls and ceiling are covered with human skulls and bones – about 3000 of them, with another 20,000 to 30,000 filling the crypt below.
