This tour combines the charm and beauty of the Lofoten Islands with cultural and trendy Tromso, with a taste of the Arctic Circle thrown in. Tromso is the ‘gateway to the arctic’ and a perfect location for trekking, sea-kayaking and fishing trips in the summer and ice-fishing, skiing, and dog sledding in the winter. The beauty of the Lofoten Islands has inspired painters, sculptors, art metalworkers and glass bowers.

  • 1 – 4 Tromso attractions & activities Winters in Tromso feature blue light, northern lights, and white snow. Tromso’s two-month long summer and never ending days give you all the time in the world to explore beautiful landscapes in and around the city as well as experience all kinds of summer activities.In the summer, enjoy a hike through the gentle coastal mountains around the city offering incredible panoramas of the open sea. The Lyngen Alps rise 1800 metres above the fjord.Go sea kayaking in the sheltered waters and fjords, or through the silent woodlands of the inland rivers of Signaldalselva and SkitbotnelvaTake a sea fishing trip, or play golf under the midnight sun at the world’s most northernmost golf course.And Tromso city, the largest town in northern Norway, is lively all year round with cultural events and attractions, including a midnight-sun marathon, a Northern Lights Festival, a cathedral, and a botanic garden, all made even more special made by a climate that is moderated by the Gulf Stream.See the Northern Lights in the winter; they are at their most frequent and spectacular in late autumn and early spring. Northern Lights tours include fishing, dog sledding or a culinary experience in alavvu (a Sami herdsmen’s tent).Between November and January, the sun is below the horizon and this is a special time with the magical blue light. When the sun returns, the snow-covered mountains are illuminated in a tone of pink.There are so many winter activities to choose from including dog sledding throughout Troms, off-piste skiing for the more adventurous, cross country skiing combined with hiking tours, winter fishing trips, and Sami cultural experiences with reindeer sledge rides.
  • 4 – 7 Lofoten Islands attractions & activities Join a nature safari. Every autumn the herring and killer whales swim up the Tysfjord and Vestjord to spend winter here. From mid-October until mid-January, nature safaris set out from Lofoten to look for killer whales, sea eagles and to explore wildlife in Lofoten.See the northern lights. Lofoten is one of the best places in the world to see the northern lights due to its mild winter climate and the auroral oval that crosses the region.Try a water activity; after all, water is everywhere here, in the seas, the fjords and the Mountain Rivers. Go kayaking in the deep blue shimmering seas and see the animal kingdom from the surface of the sea, try your luck at sea fishing and enjoy the scenery while you are waiting for fish to bite, or try river rafting down the Jostedalselva River.Visit the living history Lofotr Viking Museum and experience the Viking Age as it really was. A house from the Viking era has been reconstructed with findings, reconstructions, exhibitions and domestic animals.Enjoy hiking and biking through the fjords and mountains, bays and beaches, or play golf all day and all night under the summer’s midnight sun at the Lofoten Golk links course, close to the ocean and with views of the jagged Lofoten Mountains.

Spring is from May to mid-June is when the scenery in Norway is at its most spectacular, with trees and flowers waking to life,snow in the mountains .Orchards of flowering fruit trees along the Hardangerfjord in May are images of paradise.

In Late June to Early August Norway experiences warm , bright long days with temperatures between 25 - 30°C .With the sea temperatures around 18 °C it’s a good time to swim . In Autumn the landscape is painted Golden making it a good time to to pick berries and mushrooms .You can experience the midnight sun in the Northern most part of the country above the Artic Circle .

In winter much of Norway is usually transformed into a snow-clad paradise and is the time to witness the amazing Northern Lights
