Two mountains loom over Lake Lugano – the Monte San Salvatore and the Monte Bre – and this wonderful wooded area is a haven for nature and beauty. And St. Moritz is often referred to as an Alpine metropolis with its luxury hotels and spas and wonderful backdrop of lakes and mountains. Heaven!

  • 1 Lake Lugano – exploring – and traditional cuisine at Grotto Conza Lugano is known as the ‘Rio of the Old World’. Sprawling around the bay of Lake Lugano with the dark mountains rising out of its waters and icy peaks framing the scene, Lugano has certainly earned this nickname and is known for its architectural style, sophistication and natural beauty. Spend some time in the town visiting the Cathedral of S Lawrence with its beautiful Renaissance façade, and the wonderful Church of St. Mary of the Angels that contains a magnificent fresco of the Passion and Crucifixion. And in the afternoon head away from the city and take a cable-car ride up to the sunny plateau of Serpiano and see the incredible green wooden mountainside that stretches for miles. In the evening, visit the Grotto Conza restaurant that is set up in the mountains overlooking the lake and taste incredible local cuisine that is creative, flavourful and authentic.
  • 2 Lake Lugano – exploring the countryside – cruising on the lake Today, take the funicular railway up to Monte San Salvatore and enjoy beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Take a walk to Ticino – a magical place and popular for its sparkling blue lakes and lush chestnut forests – Ticino has the most hours of sunshine in Switzerland. Enjoy an excursion to the fishing village of Gandria, up to the Monte San Giorgio or the Monte Generoso or to the Lilliput world of Switzerland in miniature atMelide. Laze around in the numerous parks around the lake with their sub-tropical plants – such as Parco Civico. And enjoy the Belvedere Gardens where the parkland boasts not only camellias and magnolias but also lots of sub-tropical species. Enjoy a boat trip on the beautiful lake and lie-back and enjoy the incredible scenery floating by.
  • 3 Lake Lugano – wellness – golf – relaxing If you enjoy playing golf then a visit to the Lugano Golf Club is a must and has wonderful views of the surrounding birch woods, oaks, pines, rhododendrons and azaleas. And relax at Lugano in Mediterranean style – leave behind all your daily stresses and enjoy being pampered in this wonderful part of the world where fresh air and mountain scenery slow everyone down and make health and well-being a focus all year round. There are lots of wellness and spa hotels and centres around the lake where you can enjoy curative baths, hydrotherapy, massages, Turkish baths and Finish saunas. If you’re feeling more active, there are lots of sporting activities around the lake including windsurfing, sailing, wake boarding, fishing and rowing.
  • 4 St. Moritz – outdoor fun at Ovaverva St. Moritz is Switzerland’s original winter wonderland and the cradle of Alpine tourism – it has been luring royals and celebrities since 1864 you will be taken in by its shimmering aquamarine lake, its emerald forests, and its snow-capped aloof mountains. Stroll around the town and visit the Engadine Museum, a reproduction of the traditional home that has displays of furniture, tools and pottery in rooms that are decorated in styles from different periods. Spend at least an afternoon at Ovaverva it’s THE place to go for fun, wellbeing and energising in St. Moritz. Take an invigorating dip while enjoying the marvellous mountain scenery, treat yourself to a thoroughly regenerating spa, or have fun in the pool!
  • 5 St. Moritz – outdoor and sport activities St. Moritz is a wonderful resort for outdoor summer and sport activity. The town lies on a sunny terrace in the heart of the Engadin Valley in Graubunden and offers so much to do for the outdoor enthusiast. Gosailing in St. Mortiz Lake that is 6000 feet above sea level! Try your hand at windsurfing, and enjoy wild water rafting on the Inn River, the ‘King of the Alpine Rivers’. There’s an 18-hole golf course in Samedan, with a backdrop view that few golf courses can boast. Take a drive through the typical Engadin villages – they have a fascinating cultural heritage with Romansch as their official main language, German spoken in St. Moritz, and Italian in the neighbouring valleys. And there is so much more to do in this beautiful region including mountain biking, hiking, tennis, sailing and visiting Switzerland’s only National Park.
